Bewitched by the Flesh BY BISHOP BERNIE WADE Part 2
On
the other hand, the alarm for the counter measure to this great injustice seems
that those who find themselves divided would create further division. They posture that if you don’t agree with
their position you are not preaching "True Doctrine”.DANGER!!!!DANGER!!!!WARNING!!!!!WARNING!!!!!You have been born in the SPIRIT!!!!!Will you now be perfected in the FLESH???Is there a more apparent scripture to this
debate?
Now
less I digress and loose my objectivity, this article is not about whether or
not you believe the ‘Word became flesh doctrine’ or can find ‘horns and hoofs
of apocalypse’ under every Scripture.My
question is, "Where is this all going?”
Will
we continue to divide until we are only identified by one word? Will we divide until only those who identify
with us in EVERY aspect come into OUR truth?I must admit that I am willing to be identified by one word, but it is
not one that men have chosen to divide over. There is only one word worth fighting over – JESUS!This one word seems to have been sufficient for
2000 years. Why now do we seem to need
change? Why now would we form groups to
be identified solely by one dogma? This
is not about a side of an argument or a political position.
In
the last few years organized groups among us have sprung up where only those
who agree with their dogma may fellowship. "those for women preachers and those
with no women preachers, those for spiritual communion and those against, those
who believe that Jesus Christ is human flesh and those who believe the Word
became flesh, those for video and those against, those for wine for communion
and those against, those who claim preterism and those against, and a long list
of other dogmas seem to some as good reasons to establish exclusivity or to
break fellowship from the body.Yet
these same men who would break away have previously held affiliation or license
in groups with homosexuals, adulterous preachers, liars, crooks and thieves. There is not great division in these groups
because of these things.Members of
these groups most often look the other way at this type of activity.
I
recently sat through a couple preachers meetings where men talked at length
about the things that were going on in their organizations. When I reflected upon the subject material I
realized that these men were not just talking about sin, they were speaking of
criminal activity.This activity they
seemed to dismiss, but when it came down to the opposition to their personal
dogma "the gloves were off”.It seems to
me that we have become the GalatianChurch. We were born in the Spirit but now we plan
perfection by the flesh.Perfection by
division seems to be the evil spirit of the hour.
This only would I learn of you,
Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law,
or by the hearing of faith?
I
resent anyone telling others that they don’t preach the truth because they
disagree with their dogmatic position on a non-salvational issues.Unless you have two witnesses (not 2
scriptures) that support your position you only have DOGMA not doctrine.
In the mouth of two or three
witnesses shall every word be established.
In
recent days we have had a man visiting our forum that claims to be an Apostolic
pastor yet denies the name of Jesus! He
has become so preoccupied on the ‘nature of Christ’ that he has lost
objectivity!I pray for repentance of
men that think they or their organization is the ‘final answer’ on any
subject.I vividly recall Jimmy Swaggart
saying something like that, no wonder he ended up a mess."IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER?”
Please
tell me what organization or organizational official wrote the bible?Which of these can save us?Which of these died for us?What official shed his blood to redeem us
from sin?My friends, we have BEWITCHED.We have come under a spell!!I recently took some flak for calling those
who have dogmas in their manuals that are not in the bible ‘cults’.I stand by my statement. If your group has a book other than the bible
that is used for DOCTRINE, you are in a cult.
"The
churches of Galatia
were founded by Apostle Paul (Ac 16:6; Ga 1:8; 4:13,19). They were composed mainly of converts from
heathenism (Ga 4:8), but partly also of Jewish converts who under the influence
of Judaizing teachers, sought to incorporate the rites of Judaism with
Christianity, and by their active zeal had succeeded in inducing the majority
of the churches to adopt their views (Ga 1:6; 3:1). Galatians was written for
the purpose of counteracting this Judaizing tendency, and to recall the
Galatians to the simplicity of the gospel.”
What
ever happened to the simple gospel? What
ever happened to those who simply preached Jesus? What has happened to conviction, anointing,
Holy Ghost power, and great outpouring of the Holy Ghost?
Are ye so foolish? having begun in
the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
For
a large portion of this author’s life, I was a Judaizer.I was convinced that all men must confirm to
holiness as we defined it or else.Imagine my shock when God gave some people the Holy Ghost without my
permission!Today, in almost every group
you will find a long list of dogmas, traditions and creeds that you must ‘obey
or else’.None of these are found in the
bible.None of these were preached by
the Apostles and what is worse these are part of their little manuals that
these cults call the TRUTH or the NEW TRUTH.
"The
great question discussed in this passage, "Was the Jewish law binding on
Christians?” Apostle Paul proves against
the Jews that men are justified by faith without the works of the law of Moses.
He shows the evil influence of the
Judaizers in destroying the very essence of the gospel, exhorts the Galatian
believers to stand fast in the faith as it is in Jesus, to abound in the fruits
of the Spirit, and in a right use of their Christian freedom. The Epistle to the Galatians and that to the
Romans taken together "form a complete proof that justification is not to
be obtained meritoriously either by works of morality or by rites and
ceremonies, though of divine appointment; but that it is a free gift,
proceeding entirely from the mercy of God, to those who receive it by faith in
Jesus our Lord."This intimidates
many believers.They want division not
unity and see all those for unity as compromisers.I recall many years ago a preacher delivering
a masterpiece of a message.The response
from his hearers, "Compromiser, sell-out, liberal …
I
heard many sermons by the Judaisers where they wrested the scripture.Screaming to the assembled masses ‘Stand fast
in the Liberty
where with Christ has set you free’, but all the while rushing to entangle them
again, to spy out their liberty, to take their freedom away. These sermons speak of liberty but are always
framed around a long list of dogmas and doctrines of men and creeds from their
little books.

Entrepreneur
Dr. Wade is always looking to bring the body into greater
unity. This takes finance. Ministries must have finance to reach their
goals. With this in mind, Dr. Wade was an integral part of the effort to
launch the Christian World Network .
The goal is simply but lofty - uniting the resources of the Christian World.
Dr. Wade imagines a day when Christians do commerce with each other all around
the globe. This will free ministers to minister rather than administer.
Christian World Network is part of the IAOC (International Association of
Christians). Dr. Wade served as the first President of this company.
